16th Note Groove on the Hi-Hat

Funk music is a good way to learn 16th note groove played on the hi-hat using RLRL sticking (single stroke roll). The right hand plays the snare drum on two and four; the left hand plays, on the snare drum, the second and/or the fourth 16th of the beat.
Sticking : the circle and the black dot are repectively for right and left hand.

To go further with this lesson you can play the etude "Granite" available at The Shop.
